EXPERIENCE

Membership Sales and Marketing
The Denver Athletic Club
DenverAthleticClub.org
August 2006 - present

“Top Athletic Club” – 5280 Magazine 2002-present. The DAC is the oldest operating athletic club in the state of Colorado. My first year set records in membership sales never achieved in its entire 118 year history. I continue and create new membership recruitment programs incorporating internet marketing, print media, networking, and more traditional forms of membership marketing.

General Manager
The Denver Press Club
DenverPressClub.org
September 2005 – August 2006

The oldest continuously operating press club in the nation. I started at the Press Club as the event coordinator, but amidst political and financial crises, I was promoted to General Manager. I inherited a business that was delinquent on all accounts, cut off from vendors, and it’s staff eviscerated. Without any training or guidance, I sustained the Press Club through an extremely difficult period in its history and put it back on a positive business course where it continues today.

Banquet Sales Manger - Assistant Manager - Event Coordinator
The Greenbriar Inn
GreenbriarInn.com
May 2002 – September 2005

"Best Restaurant" - Boulder Weekly's People's Choice Award, 2004; "Best of Award of Excellence" - Wine Spectator Magazine 1989-present. "A Hidden Treasure" - Zagat Survey, 2002. "Most romantic place to pop the question" - Westword Magazine 2003. For 35 years this chef-owned restaurant, nestled In the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, has been hosting intimate dinners of 2, to elegant weddings for 250, business retreats, and everything in between. As the Banquet Sales Manager I assisted groups and individuals in the planning process from first tour to last dance. Responsibilities also included marketing, business to business sales, advertising, public relations, managing a service staff of 20, a wine list of over 1,500 labels, and, at times, 5 events at once! During my tenure the Greenbriar Inn saw record banquet sales of $600,000 annually and we continued to expand our facilities to accommodate larger as well as off site catering events.

October 1993 - December 1994

Each day we challenged ourselves and our kids to provide a variety of recreational activities from which individuals could choose -- always offering at least one field trip per day, and stressing the values of respect for the individual, and the community. Inclusion was a message evidenced everywhere, from our financial assistance programs, to the support offered to the staff, to the children of so many different cultural and familial backgrounds. A great organization to work for!
